This is a larger version of the 11x14 "Keats and Cammie" I did a few years ago. I had always wanted to do a larger one to truly develop the mood. I think the figure, cat, and light were a given, but I wanted to create a cool and quiet backdrop for them as if she has taken a walk in the woods with her book of poetry and is greeted by her cat upon returning home. This is actually a model that I set up in my backyard right at the time the light would be most dramatic. My cat, Cammie, decided the picture would be better with her in it, so she volunteered. She was right.
